GENDER

"Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; gender manifests on all planes." — The Kybalion.

The great principle of gender embodies the truth that gender is manifested in everything; masculine and feminine principles are ever at work.

Not only are Masculine and feminine properties within every single person, but the principle of gender goes deeper to state that masculine and feminine energy, (positive and negative) is within all matter, corpscule and atom.

Positive is considered masculine, negative is considered feminine, although the word 'negative' has been ruled out by many of the best scientific authorities, as there is truly nothing 'negative' about it; the word 'cathode' is being used instead, coming from the greek root meaning "descent; the path of generation, etc,"

When the feminine corpuscule unites with a masculine corpuscule a certain process begins, in which the feminine particles vibrate rapidly under the influence of the Masculine energy, circling rapidly around the latter and giving birth to a new atom.

Masculine and feminine properties are ever at work, not just on the physical planes, but also on the mental and spiritual planes; on the physical plane, gender manifests as sex, on the higher planes it takes higher forms, but the principle is ever the same; no physical, mental or spiritual creation is possible without this principle, as it works in the direction of generation, regeneration and creation.

The word 'gender' comes from the latin root meaning "to beget; to procreate; to generate; to create; to produce."

I would like to describe this principle in regards to mental gender, the masculine and feminine properties of the mind; the conscious and subconscious; the '1' and the 'me'

When an individual examines their consciousness, a form of duality is noticed within the mind, returning a report of "i" and "me"

The 'me' aspect of the mind is generally composed of certain feelings, emotions, tastes, likes, dislikes, habits, characteristics, etc, all of which go to make up the personality or the 'self' known to oneself and others.

an individual knows that these emotions and feelings change; are born and die away; are subject to the Principle of Rhythm, and the Principle of Polarity, which take one from one extreme of feeling to another. the 'Me' is also known as being certain knowledge gathered together in an individual's mind, and thus forming a part of oneself. This is the "Me" of an individual.

Some individuals even go as far as to regard their personal apparel as a part of their 'me' and seem to consider it as a part of themselves. a writer has humorously said that "men consist of three parts, soul, body and clothes"; These clothes conscious people would lose their personality if divested from their clothing.

As one rises in consciousness, the individual can disentangle the 'me' from his idea of body and is able to think of his body as "belonging to" the mental part of him.

This awareness brings an understanding that the mental states, feelings, etc are not identical with oneself, they are just sensations produced by some part of his mentality, existing with him, of him, and in him, but still not 'himself.'

The individual will see that these mental states can be changed by an 'effort of will' to produce an effect of the opposite nature.

with practice the individual can place these various mental states, habits, emotions, feelings, qualities, and characteristics in the 'not me' collection of curiosities and encumbrances, as well as valuable possessions.

​After this 'laying aside' process has been performed, the individual will be in conscious possession of a 'self' which may be in its 'I' and 'me' dual aspects.

The 'i' represents the masculine principle of mental gender as 'being' and the 'me' represents the feminine principle as 'becoming', you will notice the principle of correspondence is in full effect here "as above, so below; as below, so above."

Understanding this master key of mental gender will give you the truth which underlies the whole field of the phenomena of mental influence such as telepathy, hypnotism, etc.

the tendency of the feminine principle works in the direction of receiving impressions, while the masculine principle works in the direction of giving and expressing.

the vibratory energy of the masculine principle is projected towards the feminine principle of another person, and the latter takes the seed thought and allows it to develop into maturity.

the strong men and women of the world invariably manifest the masculine principle of will and instead of living upon the impressions made upon their minds by others, they dominate their own minds and the minds of others; manifesting original thoughts which can be planted as seeds into the masses.
