The sama vritti (equal breath), is a relaxing breathing technique which calms the mind from racing thoughts or distractions; this technique can be used anywhere, anytime, to rejuvenate the mind and restore balance.

I'm sitting upright with my legs crossed, back straight, mouth closed, and my eyes shut.
Before I start, i understand that i will be performing this technique through my nose, and that my inhalation will be equal in length to my exhalation.
On a fresh breath, i start inhaling through my nose for a count of 4; once i reach this count, i immediately start exhaling at an equal count of 4... i repeat this cycle.
during this exercise, i remain focused on the flow of my breath; i continue this technique until my mind feels balanced again.
